Title: Academic Twitter and scholarly identity: constructing your digital scholarly identity on Twitter

Social media, such as Twitter, are increasingly part of work practices in higher education providing opportunities for promoting academic work and research while offering prospects for networking and learning. However, alongside opportunities, social media presents challenges about how to engage and represent oneself as a scholar and academic online. This seminar will present recent research into using social media for scholarly purposes and highlights the nuances and challenges that exist as we begin to engage in social media spaces. The seminar will initiate a discussion on how best to develop a scholarly identity on social media to effectively share and promote research.

All welcome. Tea/coffee sandwiches will be provided. Please register in advance for catering purposes.
